What are some good halloween treats/props/activities.?

I’m having a halloween party for kids ages 8-adults. What are some good halloween treats, props and activities. I’ve found monkey bread balls, popcorn balls, rice crispy treats. looking for pastries, cookies, snacks, some kind of punch, and other treats. I’ve also thought of a UFO crash sight and hanging people from trees. Need more props and some decoration. Only activity I can think of is buying a Dora pinata and filling it with red goop to make like flesh(me and my friends have good time making fun of Nick Jr.) Need more activities that are not for 4-Year-Olds.

  1. try orietel trading they have some good halloween stuff

  2. Peel Grapes and place in jello in a bowl
Place cooked spaghetti in a bowl of warm applesauce
Place chicken bones in a bowl of jello
place all the bowl behind a box with a flap cut out hand size
then make a cute sign daring people to take a feel.

Freeze water in rubber gloves (non powdered) and use in the punch bowl, just remove the gloves and use the ice
Make those pecan sandie cookies (ground pecans, sugar and two other ingredients-you will find it on the web) and shape into fingers using an almond for the finget nail dip it in red food coloring for a bloody nail.
A scavenger hunt is great for the adults and the children just make the children’s items something around the house or in the yard and the grown ups something in the neighborhood (but okay placement of items with the neighbors)
A murder mystery is great but with 8 year olds, they can get scared so I would save that for adults only.
Have some games for the kids and three or four adults to take turns supervising. Have little prizes for them. You can get cheap fun at the dollar store for the rug rats.
Jello has a popcorn recipe for colored, flavored balls you could do like a gross green or purple.
Do a kitty litter cake (recipe for that everywhere on the internet) Do english muffin pizzas with pumpkin faces by cutting the veggies or pepperoni into face shapes.

Filling a pinata with jello is fun but messy and you should use unflavored gelatin for the slime effect and fake eyeballs and body parts. Still yucky but wont stain anyone’s costume and tick them off. Let the jello set up and then fill the pinata, freezing it and hour before hanging it up and 30 minutes before the busting.

  4. Create some automated lighting displays throughout your house. you can buy some pretty cool stuff at x10.com for motion activated lighting and you can hook up all kinds of things, displays and lights to turn on. You can hook up a drill to turn on when someone walks buy and put it under a dummy so it vibrates when the drill turns on. It could make them look like they are being electrocuted.

For activites, instead of an easter egg hunt you could have a gord hunt. And hide those little pumpkins around for people to find. You could also play the game where you put the name of a popular monster on someones back – then they have to ask yes/no questions to people to figure out what monster they are.
